Newcastle United have suffered a major blow to its first-team player, Callum Wilson ahead of the Premier League clash against Chelsea at the Saint James' park.

Callum Wilson suffered an injury in the UEFA Champions League defeat against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. The forward player was not part of the team that defeated Bournemouth 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Wilson is expected to miss between four to six weeks with a hamstring injury and will likely return at the end of December 2023, according to the Telegraph.

He said, after he withdrew from the England squad.

"Unfortunately, a recent setback has meant I had to withdraw from the squad that I'd worked so hard to be a part of. Strong walls shake but never collapse, so for sure I'll be back soon. Good luck to the lads in the upcoming fixtures."

Willson is the latest player to join Newcastle's injury list, this iis a big blow to the Magpies as the games comes in very fast in December.

Sandro Tonali is also suspended, while on-loan defender Lewis Hall will be unable to face his parent club Chelsea in their next fixture, meaning Howe could be without 12 first-team players.
