The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are the new queens of African women's football after a commanding 3-0 victory over Malawi in the WAFCON 2026 final in Rabat after decades of heartbreak to lift their first-ever Women's Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

The Indomitable Lionesses, who had previously lost three WAFCON finals, finally broke their curse with a dominant display. Marie Ngah starred in the final as Cameroon capped off a remarkable tournament that also included victories over defending champions Nigeria and hosts Morocco.

One of the heroes of the competition was 22-year-old goalkeeper Michaely Bihina, whose outstanding performances earned her the tournament's Golden Glove. She produced nine saves against Nigeria, saved three penalties against Morocco in the semi-finals, and kept another clean sheet in the final to seal a historic triumph.
