Liverpool suffer huge injury ahead of Man City clash

Liverpool Football Club have been hit with an injury to one of its first-team players, Ibrahim Konate ahead of the crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Ibrahim Konaté sustained a knee injury during the closing stages of the team’s 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. The French international confirmed the news on his official Instagram account on Friday, November 29, 2024.

What happened to Ibrahim Konate?

The injury to the defender occurred following a collision with Real Madrid’s Endrick, which saw him requiring assistance to leave the pitch.

How long will Konate be out for?

The Frenchman will be out of action for 5-6 weeks, he will miss the festive fixtures in December and he is expected back in early January 2025.

What did Konate say?

He expressed his disappointment after he suffered an injury.

“So frustrating to pick up this injury right at the end of a great game on Wednesday night. Now we start the recovery process but one thing I promise is I will come back and be the best I can be once again. Thank you for the amazing support at Anfield. Inshallah we will keep going and I will support the team every step of the way.”
