In a shocking transfer news no one saw coming, La Liga giants, Real Madrid have submitted a bid to sign Yan Diomande this summer.
Real Madrid have submitted an official written offer worth around £85 million (£75 million guaranteed plus £10 million in performance-related add-ons) for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, according to reports from Sky Germany.
The bid matches the value of Liverpool's earlier proposal for the highly rated Ivory Coast international, but Leipzig have rejected both offers as they continue to stand firm over their valuation of one of Europe's most sought-after young attackers.
Leipzig are reportedly unwilling to consider any deal below their asking price and have made it clear that even €100 million is currently not enough to persuade them to sell this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain have also emerged as strong contenders for Diomande's signature. Although the French champions have yet to submit an official bid, discussions have already taken place between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and RB Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff.
The player is understood to favour a move to the Ligue 1 champions and has already agreed personal terms on a contract that would keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2031, Yan however according to reports is open to a possible move to Real Madrid.
However, with Real Madrid now entering the race with a formal offer, the transfer battle is expected to intensify. Reports suggest that if Los Blancos return with an improved bid, PSG's hopes of securing the winger could become significantly more complicated.
Real Madrid are looking to reinforce their attacking options with one of Europe's brightest young talents, while Liverpool remain interested despite seeing their own £85 million proposal turned down. PSG, meanwhile, are working behind the scenes to translate the player's preference into a formal agreement with Leipzig.
