Former Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has committed his future to the club for another season after reaching an agreement with the club hierarchy.
Manchester United announced the contract of Harry Maguire on its official website on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The English defender signed a one-year deal which will keep him at Old Trafford until the summer of 2027.
Maguire expressed his excitement and explained he signed the new deal.
He said,
“Representing Man United is the ultimate honour. It is a responsibility that makes myself and my family proud every single day. I am delighted to extend my journey at this incredible club to at least eight seasons and continue to play in front of our special supporters to create more amazing moments together”.
He continued,
"You can feel the ambition and potential of this exciting squad. The determination throughout the whole club to fight for major trophies is clear for everyone to see, and I am confident that our best moments together remain ahead of us.”
The 33-year-old defender’s extension comes after a strong resurgence in form, particularly under manager Michael Carrick. His performances have been instrumental in helping United climb to third place in the Premier League, boosting their push for Champions League qualification.
