Manchester United's defender, Harry Maguire, has given an update on the injury he suffered during the game against Aston Villa.

The England international posted a picture of himself being aided out of the pitch after the half-time whistle at the Villa Park on Sunday, October 6. 2024. According to him, he will be sidelined for the next few weeks but he expects to come back stronger.

"Frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend, will be a few weeks on the sideline for me but I'll come back stronger."

The 31-year-old started for United against Aston Villa alongside Johnny Evans on Sunday afternoon but was withdrawn at half-time of the match having gone down injured in the dying seconds of the first half. Maguire scored a last-minute header in United’s 3-3 draw at FC Porto in Thursday’s Europa League clash, having come on as a 78th-minute substitute.

Harry Maguire would be the fourth player on the club's injury list in addition to the trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Noussair Mazraoui who have all withdrawn from international duty as a precaution but there is hope they could all still be involved against Brentford next week.
