Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has shared his thoughts following the shock sacking of Xabi Alonso as Real Madrid manager.
Flick acknowledged that managerial changes are an unfortunate but familiar part of the modern game. He avoided direct criticism of Real Madrid’s decision, stressing instead that every club has the right to make choices it believes are best for its future.
The German coach made it clear that he prefers to focus on his own team rather than comment extensively on decisions taken elsewhere. Flick also took time to show personal support for Alonso, describing him as a talented coach with a strong footballing vision.
He said,
"It's not my business, but I had a good relationship with him. He's a fantastic coach, I wish him all the best."
The Barcelona boss highlighted Alonso’s impressive rise in management and suggested that the setback at Madrid would not define his career. According to Flick, Alonso remains a highly respected figure who is more than capable of bouncing back and succeeding at another top club.
Alonso was sacked after a series of bad results which didn't sit well with the Real Madrid boss.
