Frank Lampard's First Words as Chelsea Caretaker Manager

The Caretaker manager of Chelsea Football Club, Frank Lampard has spoken to the public as it concerns about his role at the club.

The Englishman was speaking at his first press conference where he told Chelsea supporters what they should expect from him going into the final games of the season. He said it was easy for him to accept the job because of the love he has for the club.

I will do my best, then we will see what happens. So it won't be my decision [long-term]. I understand I will be asked a lot, I've got my eyes open. I'm excited as there’s a lot of talent here. It was easy to accept this job for me; this is my club.

This will be Lampard's second stint as the manager of Chelsea. He was appointed the manager of the London club during the 2019/20 season. He led to Blues to a top-four finish during his first season despite not being able to buy any player because of the transfer ban.

However, he was fired mid-way into his second season in January 2021 following a series of bad results. The Blues went on to win the UEFA Champions League during with 2020/21 season under Thomas Tuchel.
