The search for a permanent manager under the management of Todd Boehly and his associates at Chelsea Football Club does not seem to be coming anytime soon.
The management of the club have decided to appoint, Frank Lampard as the caretaker manager of the Premier League club until the end of the season. The Blues made the announcement on its official website on Thursday, April 6th, 2023. According to reports from the club, Lampard agreed to a deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season.
This will be Lampard's second stint as the manager of Chelsea. He was appointed the manager of the London club during the 2019/20 season. He led to Blues to a top-four finish during his first season despite not being able to buy any player because of the transfer ban.
However, he was fired mid-way into his second season in January 2021 following a series of bad results. The Blues went on to win the UEFA Champions League during with 2020/21 season under Thomas Tuchel.
This is an opportunity for Lampard to revive his managerial career following his poor run as the manager of Everton. He will hope that he can help Chelsea finish the season on a high.
