Enugu Rangers’ Fidelis Ilechukwu, the title-winning coach, has lambasted Victor Osimhen following a vouch that the Nigerian forward made about Finidi George on social media, Soccernet Nigeria reported.

Recall that Victor Osimhen, the CFA Player of the Year, expressed his displeasure with recently resigned Super Eagles coach Finidi George on Saturday. According to Osimhen, he had "lost all respect" for the former Enyimba gaffer. This came after reports surfaced that Finidi George allegedly stated, "I can’t beg Osimhen to play for Nigeria."

The Napoli star's comments did not stop at Finidi George; he also made derogatory remarks towards the Super Eagles fans for questioning his dedication to the national team.

Reacting to the incident, Ilechukwu did not hold back his criticism of Osimhen, describing him as a "nobody" and condemning his disrespectful attitude towards a respected figure in Nigerian football.

In his words, Ilechukwu said, “Osimhen is a nobody to disrespect Finidi. As the African best player, one of our best players, he must learn to be patient and explain himself even when the world is against him,” Ilechukwu told Brila FM.

“He needs to apologize. He must, because an apology is a sign of humility. It is not always good to behave like he is beyond control. who is he?

“This is a player of yesterday, who started from under-17 just talking and ranting. As far as I’m concerned, NFF should take drastic action against that kind of attitude.”

This public feud highlights the growing tensions between Osimhen and parts of the Nigerian football community, casting a shadow over his celebrated status as one of Africa’s top football talents.
