The body governing football, FIFA has decided to kick out Russia from the World Cup playoffs which are expected to be played during the next international window.

The announcement was made on the official website of FIFA on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022. According to the statement, it means Poland will get an automatic spot in the next round of the qualification as they await the winner of the game between Sweden and the Czech Republic.
In addition, subsequent to the decision of 28 February 2022 taken jointly with the UEFA Executive Committee to suspend all Russian teams from participation in both FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice, the Bureau of the FIFA Organising Committee decided that Poland will receive a bye to the final of Path B due to take place on 29 March 2022, in which they will face the winners of the match between Sweden and the Czech Republic.
The body also confirmed that the game between Scotland and Ukraine which was originally scheduled for March 28th, 2022 will now be played during the next FIFA International window in June. The winner will play the winner of the game between Wales and Austria.
