The head Coach of Portugal, Fernando Santos has been in the news following his decision not to start Cristiano Ronaldo in the game against Switzerland.

Santos revealed his conversation with Ronaldo at the post-match press conference after the game which was a walk in the park for his team against the Swiss. He said Ronaldo was an example of a good leader and did not give him any problem following his decision to drop him to the bench.

There were reports across the media that the reason why Ronaldo was dropped was because of his outburst in the game against South Korea in their final group game when he was substituted by Santos.

Portugal thrashed Switzerland 6-1 in their Round of 16 games, setting them up for a quarter-final clash against Morocco.
