Ronaldo started all three of Portugal's group-stage fixtures but things went south when he was substituted in their most recent game against South Korea, which ended in a 2-1 defeat. Santos admitted he was annoyed with Ronaldo's angry reaction to his substitution.

The former Manchester United player was a center of conversation after he put his finger to his mouth while being substituted by Santos. Ronaldo has admitted the gesture was directed at a South Korean player and not Santos, but the incident still annoyed the Portugal boss.

I didn't like it, I really didn't like it, but from that moment onwards everything is finished regarding that issue. These matters are resolved behind closed doors. It’s resolved. Full stop on this matter and now everyone is focused on tomorrow’s match

This is the first time Ronaldo is having an issue with the Portuguese coach after his outburst with the manager of Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag.
