Turkish Super Lig side, Fenerbahce, has officially announced the appointment of Jose Mourinho for the 2024/25 football season.
The announcement was made in a video posted on Fenerbahce's official website and social media accounts on Sunday, June 2, 2024. In the video, Jose Mourinho directly addressed the fans, saying,
"See you tomorrow, Let's start our journey together."
The 61-year-old will be taking over from Ismail Kartal, who departed Fenerbahce on Friday, May 31, 2024, after the team finished second in the league to city rivals Galatasaray, despite losing just one game all season.
Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United boss, holds the distinction of being the only manager to have won the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League. Over his 24-year managerial career, which began with Benfica and also included stints at Porto, Inter Milan, and Tottenham, he has won 21 major honors. Mourinho's most recent trophy was with Roma in 2022, when he led them to victory in the Europa Conference League.
