The Falconets of Nigeria have written their name in the history books of the Under-20 Women's World Cup.

The West African team achieved this feat during the ongoing women's world cup in the early hours of Thursday, August 18th, 2022. Falconets won their opening three group games of the competition which were against Canada, Korea Republic and France.
Nigeria is the first African country to achieve this feat and the ninth in the history of the Under-20 Women's World Cup. The Falconets will face the Netherlands in the quater-finals of the competition on Sunday, August 21st, 2022.
Other quater-finals games include; Spain vs Mexico, Colombia vs Brazil and Japan vs France.
