Hot stories
Erling Haaland is the most expensive player as he will cost managers £15.0m to own at the start of the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League which is the highest in the history of the league. Although Haaland’s total of 217 points was less than the 272 points he collected in his debut 2022/23 season, the underlying statistics show his goal threat remains peerless in the Premier League.
(2) Mohamed Salah (Liverpool ) £12.5m
The Egyptian King, as he is popularly called, is the second most expensive player in the FPL this season. Salah is one of the players with the most owners in the history of the league, having produced more than 200 points in the last seven seasons.
He holds the record for being the only player to surpass 300 points in an FPL season, amassing 303 points at the end of the 2017/18 season.
(3) Cole Palmer ( Chelsea) £10.5m
The Chelsea midfielder is the biggest price increase in the history of FPL, he will not cost FPL managers £10.5 million to have them in their team. This is due to his impressive performance last season which he started at £5.0 million and ended at £6.3 million having secured 244 points, the highest by any player last season (2023/24).
That rise breaks the previous record of £5.0m, set by Andy Carroll in 2011/12. Carroll had started 2010/11 costing only £5.0m while at Newcastle United but, after moving to Liverpool midway through the season, was priced at £10.0m ahead of his first full season with the Reds.
(4) Bukayo Saka ( Arsenal) £10m
The England international is one of the most expensive players in the FPL this season. Saka's price increased by £1.5m from the start of 2023/24 after he recorded his second successive 200+ point season. Saka's owners can rest assured that the midfielder will get a lot of game time under Mikel Arteta when the 2024/25 season starts. He played in 37 games, scoring an impressive 16 goals and providing 12 assists.
(4) Son Heung-Min ( Tottenham) £10m
Tottenham forward player, Son Heung-Min has been valued at the same price as Arsenal's Bukayo Saka. FPL managers will have to pay £10m to bring the South Korean into their team, he was the sixth-highest returning player last season with 260 points.
(5) Phil Foden ( Manchester City) £9.5m
The Manchester City midfielder was outstanding for the Champions last season (2023/24). The midfielder is currently priced at £9.5 which seems like a fair price having scored 18 goals and eight assists which is his best performance in recent years.
(5) Kevin De Bruyne ( Manchester City) £9.5m
Kevin De Bruyne is always among the owned players by FPL managers because of his attacking returns whenever he is selected on a matchday. However, the Belgian spent most of his time on the touchline due to injuries. Despite having played just 16 games, he still managed 4 goals and 10 assists. His price tag of £9.5m for the 2024/25 season makes him an attractive option if he can stay injury-free.
(7) Ollie Watkins ( Aston Villa) £9m
The Aston Villa forward's price increased from £8m to £9m, a common occurrence for players who had an impressive FPL campaign during the 2023/24 season. Watkins is expected to be a valuable asset for most managers, given his favorable fixtures in five out of his first six games.
(8) Alexander Isak ( Newcastle United) £8.5m
Alexander Isak had a fantastic performance during the 2023/24 season and was a key part of Newcastle's success last season. The Swedish striker played in 30 league games, scoring 21 goals and providing 4 assists. He was able to earn 172 points which is the ninth-highest among all the players.
(8) Bruno Fernandes ( Manchester United) £8.5m
The Manchester United captain is a good asset for most FPL managers despite his going below his standard last season, however, with the history of the Portuguese international, the price tag on him is relatively fair especially if he starts the season on a high.
(8) Martin Odegaard ( Arsenal ) £8.5m
The Gunners captain and midfielder completes the list of the most expensive players in the price list of players that was released by the FPL. Although he was overshadowed by his team-mate in 2023/24 Fantasy, the Norwegian still delivered a respectable 186 points thanks to eight goals and 11 assists.
