The manager of Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag, has highlighted the reason why his team lost to Bayern Munich in the opening group game of the UEFA Champions League.

He was speaking in a post-match press conference after the 4-3 defeat at the Allianz Arena, played on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. According to Erik Ten Hag, the team must take responsibility for the defeat because they failed to take advantage of the chances created in the game's first few minutes.

"Every game is huge. We have to make our own luck. Nobody is going to help you. You see the first 25 minutes we were good, but we didn’t score, so we have to stay in the game but look at the first goal, you have to make it harder to get the shot.”

He also spoke about the interview that Andre Onana had after the match.

"It is good that Onana is taking responsibility, but it’s about a team, we bounce back as a team."

Manchester United have conceded at least three goals in their last three games across all competitions. The club supporters will hope these can get better when they face Burnley in the Premier League this weekend.
