The Egyptian Football Association have given an update as it concerns the fitness of Mohamed Salah ahead of the game against Ethiopia.

Salah is expected to miss the game the North Africa's second game after playing the first qualifying game against Guinea on Sunday, June 5th, 2022. He suffered a reoccurring injury in the game which ensured he underwent a scan ahead of the game against Ethiopia.
The technical staff of the Egyptian national football team, led by manager Ehab Galal, have decided to rest Mohamed Salah for the Ethiopia match scheduled for June 9 of this month after he underwent scans that proved the presence of a slight strain.
Salah suffered an injury in the final of the FA Cup against Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium on May 14th, 2022. However, he was able to play the final Premier League game of the season against Wolves where he scored a goal. He also played in the final of the UEFA Champions League against Real Madrid on May 28th, 2022.
