The French player and his brothers are expected to appear at a Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2022. The Athletic confirmed the news concerning Zouma on its official website on Monday, May 22nd, 2022.

Zouma was filmed by his brother kicking his cats earlier in the year and had received a lot of backlash from people on social media. The defender was fined £250,000 by West Ham but was selected by David Moyes despite calls from the public wanting otherwise.

The cats were removed from the player's home by the RSCPA and they continue to take care of the pets. The body released a statement following the incident.

Zouma's brother Yoan, has not played for his club, Dagenham and Redbridge since the incident and has also been charged with aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring Kurt to kick the cat and slap him in the head.
