Argentina booked their spot in the Quarter-finals of the ongoing 2024 Copa America following their 1-0 victory over Chile in the early hours of Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez and Fiorentina midfielder Nicolas Gonzalez were the first to test Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, early on in the game. Argentina's best opportunity of the first half came to Lionel Messi but his effort was denied by the post.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 88th minute when Lisandro Martinez scored the winning goal of the match. This win continues Argentina's dominance in the history of the game against Chile as Argentina took their unbeaten run to 31 games in Copa America.
Argentina has gone 10 consecutive CONMEBOL Copa América matches without being behind on the scoreboard (W8 D2). The last time they were losing in a tournament match was in the semifinals in 2019 against Brazil.
