The captain of England's Under-21 men's football team, Cole Palmer has returned to Cohbams, the training ground of Chelsea Football Club.

The midfielder was not part of the U-21 team that travelled to Slovakia to face Ukraine tomorrow night. He returned to Chelsea after picking up a dead leg in his right quad during the 9-1 victory over Serbia on Thursday, October 11, 2023.

The coach of the team, Lee Carsley, confirmed this in a statement when he was asked about the midfielder ahead of the game against Ukraine. According to him, the team decided to take a precaution, hence the reason he was asked to return to Chelsea.

"I think Cole would be fine, but we do not take any chances with any of the players. If there is a slight doubt that they’re going to miss a game at the weekend, we get them back to the clubs as quickly as we can.”

The 21-year-old has been in fantastic form since he completed his move from Manchester City to Chelsea. Cole Palmer has been a key part of the Blues attack across all competitions.

Chelsea supporters will hope he is fully fit when they host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
