The Moises Caicedo saga might not be ending anytime soon, as the player's future is still not settled as the clock ticks down to the start of the Premier League season.

It was earlier reported that Brighton and Liverpool have agreed on a record transfer fee of £110 million, the highest to be paid for any player in the history of the Premier League. However, the Guardian has confirmed that Chelsea are not ready to give up on Moises Caicedo, as they are looking to submit a higher offer for the midfielder.

Chelsea need to strengthen midfield after selling Mason Mount, N’Golo Kanté, Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovacic this year. They are due to sign Tyler Adams from Leeds for £20m but they need a player with more grit who can assist Enzo Fernandez.

Liverpool are also strengthening in midfield, having lost Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Fabinho. They have signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.
