Chelsea in an official statement have confirmed that the club has now recalled another player back from loan before the end of the January 2024 transfer window as injury concerns at the club intensifies.
As the injury woes of the club worsens with reports indicating that players like Lesley Ugochukwu and Romeo Lavia might be out for a long period of time, Chelsea have now recalled midfielder Cesare Casadei back from the championship side Leicester where he had gone on loan from the start of the season.
Although reports indicate that the reason behind the Blues decision to recall Cesare Casadei back to the club is not related to the injury concerns at the club but rather a possible move out of the club for Conor Gallagher.
The official statement by Chelsea read, "Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has been recalled from his loan spell at Leicester City. Casadei made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes this season and scored three goals. The 21-year-old joined the Blues in August 2022 from Inter Milan and was part of the first-team squad that travelled to the United States for pre-season in the summer."
Cesare Casadei is not the only midfielder who has been recalled back to the club, players like Andrey Santos and Datro Fofana have both returned back to the club as well with only Fofana joining Burnley on a loan move till the end of the 2023/2024 season.
