Chelsea Football Club have released a statement addressing the racial chants made by Enzo Fernandez and his Argentine teammates toward the French national team following their Copa America victory.

The club condemned the incident, emphasizing that they do not tolerate discriminatory behavior in any form. Chelsea acknowledged Fernandez's apology and stated that they would use this as an opportunity to educate.
"Chelsea Football Club finds all forms of discriminatory behaviour completely unacceptable. We are proud to be a diverse, inclusive club where people from all cultures, communities, and identities feel welcome. We acknowledge and appreciate our player’s public apology and will use this as an opportunity to educate. The Club has instigated an internal disciplinary procedure."
In his apology letter, Fernandez admitted to the offensive nature of the chants and expressed his regret for the incident. He emphasized that there is no excuse for such language and asserted his stance against discrimination in all forms.

“I want to apologise sincerely for a video posted on my Instagram channel during the national team celebrations. The song includes highly offensive language and there is absolutely no excuse for these words. I stand against discrimination in all forms and apologise for getting caught up in the euphoria of our Copa America celebrations. That video, that moment, those words, do not reflect my beliefs or my character. I am truly sorry.”
However, some Chelsea's French players have decided to unfollow Fernandez on Instagram which was before the Argentine released his apology statement. It remains to be seen whether the players will face disciplinary action from football governing bodies regarding the incident.
There is also a possibility that the Premier League could take an action against its players that were in the video.
