The body announced that the competition which is to be hosted by Ivory Coast in June 2023 will now be played in January/February 2024. According to reports the reason for the date change is because of the weather condition in Cote d'Ivoire in June after a meeting was held among the committee members in Rabat, Morocco.
This means that the Nations Cup will be played in January for the second time in a row after it was hosted in Cameroon this year (2022) the competition was won by the Terenga Lions of Senegal.
CAF had earlier announced that the Nations Cup will be played in June as against being played in January because of the competition clashing with the league in Europe.
