Burnley Football Club have been relegated from the English Premier League after they lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur.
Burnley needed a victory against Spurs to stand a chance of playing in the Premier League next season. The result puts the Vincent Kompany-led side four points behind Nottingham Forest in 17th place with one more game to play.
Burnley took an unexpected lead against Tottenham through Jacob Bruun Larsen in the 25th minute. However, Pedro Porro equalized seven minutes later, and Micky van de Ven scored a late winner for Spurs.
Burnley won just five games in the Premier League this season with two wins in their last 19 games, this poor form saw them occupy the relegation zone for the better part of this season. They face Nottingham Forest in the final day of the season, Kompany will hope his team can finish the season with a victory.
