The midfielder is Chelsea's number-one target midfielder as they are looking for N'Golo Kante's perfect replacement. According to reports from several sports media outlets, Brighton have placed a £100 million price tag as the market value for the player.
Transfer news guru, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Seagules have rejected the Blues' latest bid for Moises Caicedo. He confirmed that Chelsea submitted £80 million for the player but ir was rejected immediately by Brighton, however, talks is still ongoing between both clubs.
The Guardian confirmed that Brighton's decision to inflate the price on the Ecuadorian is triggered by the transfer fee of Enzo Fernandez and Declan Rice. It is perceived that the Seagulls believe Caicedo's value is close to these players.
The 21-year-old signed a contract extension with Brighton in January 2023 which will see him stay at the club until 2027 with an option to extend with an extra year. However, the good news is that the player is willing to join Chelsea.
