The one-horse race for Brighton's midfielder, Moises Caicedo, became a two-horse race before Chelsea Football Club could blink their eyes.
The Blues were the only club interested in signing the Ecuadorian, having seen three of their bids rejected by the Seagulls. Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romao confirmed that Liverpool have submitted a higher bid than Chelsea for the defensive midfielder.
The Seagulls have always held their ground on £100 million, with Chelsea wanting to pay £80 million. However, the Reds and the Blues submitted another bid on the deadline date, which was given by Brighton. According to reports, Liverpool put in £110 million, while Chelsea submitted £100 million for the player.
Reports from England have confirmed that the paper documents for the player have been signed between Brighton and Liverpool. The transfer is still dependent on Moises Caicedo's decision if he wants to move to Anfield.
Liverpool have booked a medical for Caicedo today (August 11, 2023) and Jurgen Klopp plans to speak to him as the final steps of the deal.
