Two Arsenal players were involved in a heated argument after the Gunners victory in the Premier League game against Nottingham Forest.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ben White were separated by their teammates after the full-time whistle. Both players were at loggerheads while the rest of the team was celebrating with the away fans who travelled to come to watch the game.
Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta while speaking after the game confirmed that both players were upset that they conceded a late goal, hence the reason why they were upset with each other. However, he believes that it could have been done out of respect.
"That’s pushing each other and being not happy conceding. And I have to encourage that and promote it in the right way and a respectful way. Sometimes after the game, it’s too emotional and heated. But I love that the players are pushing each other and demanding excellence. And today we conceded a goal that is not at the level that we want.”
The victory against Forest puts the Gunners two points behind the league leaders, Liverpool. The Reds will face Chelsea today ( Wednesday, January 31, 2024) before both teams lock horns this weekend.
