Here are four key players confirmed by Arne Slot to miss the Premier League fixture, Arsenal vs Liverpool due to injury.
Arne Slot in his pre-match press conference ahead of his side's premier league fixture, Arsenal vs Liverpool has confirmed the absence of four key players for the Reds due to injury.
Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, has confirmed that his team will be missing out on four key players ahead of their upcoming match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Slot revealed that Diogo Jota will miss the crucial Premier League clash on Sunday after sustaining an injury during Liverpool’s recent 2-1 victory over Chelsea. Jota was forced off the pitch following a collision with Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo, and as a result, he also missed Liverpool’s midweek Champions League win against RB Leipzig.
The Portuguese forward joins Liverpool’s growing list of injured players, which includes goalkeeper Alisson Becker (hamstring) and midfielder Harvey Elliott (foot). Slot also confirmed that summer signing Federico Chiesa will remain sidelined for the trip to north London as he continues his recovery, although full-back Conor Bradley could be available for selection.

“I think they [Bradley, Jota, Elliott, Alisson, and Chiesa] are feeling good, but not in time for the weekend. Chiesa might train today, but Diogo won’t. We’ll see if Conor can join us tomorrow,” Slot stated in a press conference on Friday.
Allison injury update
The Dutch coach also provided an update on Alisson, who suffered a hamstring injury in a match against Crystal Palace. Backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has been deputizing for the Brazilian and will continue to do so until Alisson returns.
Slot noted that while Alisson is progressing well, his recovery won’t be a short-term one. “It’s hard to say when he’ll be back. He’s still in the final phase of his rehab, but he won’t be ready for Brighton in the cup,” Slot added.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are dealing with their own injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s fixture. Key players like Martin Ødegaard, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney, and Riccardo Calafiori are all expected to miss the game, while doubts remain over the fitness of Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber.
