Arsenal Football Club have confirmed the contract extension of one of its first-team player ahead as they prepare for the new season.
The Gunners announced that its defender, William Saliba has signed a contract extension which will keep him at the Emirates until June 2027 with an option to extend by another year.
The defender joined Arsenal on a permanent deal from Saint-Etienne in July 2019 and spent the 2019/20 season back on loan with the Ligue 1 side. He came back to Arsenal in 2020 where he won the FA Community Shield as an unused substitute.
He later returned to France for the 2021/22 season in order to gain further valuable experience, joining Marseille on a season-long loan deal. Saliba will also wear a new shirt number for next season, he will wear the number 2 for the 2023/24 season.
