The head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, Ange Postecoglou gave an update on the situation of Rodrigo Bentancur after the game against Liverpool.
Rodrigo Bentancur sent a scare to those at the stadium and those watching from home. The midfielder was stretchered off during the Carabao Cup semi-final clash between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur which was played on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Bentancur attempted to head the ball towards goal after a corner was swung in but moments later, he missed and landed face-first on the ground. The 27-year-old required extensive treatment and, after medics worked on the pitch for nine minutes, Bentancur was stretchered off the field and taken down the tunnel.
What did Postecoglou say about the injury to Rodrigo Bentancur?
Ange Postecoglou confirmed that there is nothing serious about the midfielder's injury.
"There's nothing too detailed (at this stage). He was conscious when he came off the field and he’s been taken to hospital for some observations so we’re hoping he’ll be okay. I don't want to speculate. It was some sort of head injury, it was bad enough for his teammates to worry about him."
