Carlo Ancelotti in his pre-match press conference ahead of the weekend fixture in La Liga against Osasuna had addressed questions around the Real Madrid vs Man City UEFA Champions League fixture

Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, recently spoke about the team's upcoming match against Manchester City in the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Acknowledging that Manchester City is one of the best teams in Europe, Ancelotti expressed his thoughts during a press conference that was held to preview the upcoming La Liga match against Osasuna.

Although he was asked multiple questions about facing City for the third consecutive year, he confidently stated that City is "one of the favourites" to retain the title won in Istanbul last year. He acknowledged that it would be a tough match, but expressed his team's willingness to take on the challenge. When asked about playing the return leg at the Etihad, where they suffered a 4-0 loss in the semifinals in 2022/2023 after a 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu, Ancelotti was defiant in his response by stating that they don't care.

He also mentioned that quarterfinals on the continent are always tricky and that Madrid's route to the final and a possible record 15th UCL crown is now complicated, with Bayern Munich or Arsenal waiting for them in the last four. However, Ancelotti stressed that the idea is to win the competition, and for that, they need to beat the best.

He emphasized that City may be one of the best teams in Europe at the moment, but if Madrid wants to be European champions, they have to eliminate City. Ancelotti's confidence and determination are sure to inspire his team to put up a good fight against Manchester City in the upcoming match.
