Latest Alisson injury update leaves Liverpool fans with concerns

Alisson Becker's latest injury update has left the fans of his club Liverpool with more concerns with reports confirming his absence from key fixtures.

Following a thorough observation of Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker, the club's fans will have to wait for his return for a while with the latest injury update from the club. Unfortunately for the Reds, the 32-year-old’s injury is serious it was revealed that he underwent a scan to determine the severity of the problem and will now miss at least seven games, according to The Times.

It has been confirmed that Alisson will be out for the entirety of October 2024 and is expected to make a possible return at the end of November of the same year.

This isn't the first time Alisson has struggled with hamstring issues, and this latest setback will see him miss around seven key games, including crucial matches against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion twice, Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa.

Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to fill in for Alisson during his absence, and, Kelleher has proven himself to be a reliable and dependable option in the absence of the club's number one. However, Alisson's presence will be greatly missed, especially considering his history of injuries.

This latest setback means takes his total number of matches missed due to injuries whilst at Liverpool to a total of 49 matches across the last five seasons. Alisson was helped off in the second half of Liverpool’s win against Crystal Palace with an obvious hamstring issue.

Alisson Becker’s impact on Liverpool cannot be overstated. Since joining the Reds in 2018, the Brazilian goalkeeper has been instrumental in transforming the team into a great force, winning both Champions League and Premier League titles.
