Reports have now confirmed that Al-Alhi have reached an agreement with another top target for Chelsea as the transfer deadline approaches.

With the transfer window entering its final hours, Saudi Pro-League side Al-Alhi according to reports have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea's forward target Ivan Toney with both club and player.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney is reportedly on the verge of joining Al-Ahli after reaching an agreement with the Saudi club.

This news follows Al-Ahli's previous interest in Napoli's Victor Osimhen, whom they successfully signed. According to the Mirror, the Saudi side is poised to pull off another surprising transfer by securing Toney, a player who had been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea, thereby ending a long-running transfer saga.

Toney, who spent the last four years with Brentford after moving from Peterborough United, was eager to leave the club this summer.

Reports indicate that Brentford will receive a £40 million fee for Toney, while the overall cost of the transfer, including his wages, will reach £100 million.

Team Talk reports that Toney is set to travel to Saudi Arabia for a medical after agreeing to personal terms for the transfer. The 28-year-old striker is expected to sign a contract worth £400,000 per week, including bonuses, making him one of the highest-paid English players in football.

Additionally, Saudi clubs have the advantage of their transfer window closing a few days later, on Monday, September 2, 2024.

Initially, Brentford had demanded £80 million for Toney despite his eight-month suspension by the Football Association for violating betting regulations. However, with his contract set to expire in June 2025, the west London club has decided to sell.

Chelsea and Manchester United had both engaged in talks with Brentford, but it appears that Al-Ahli's financial strength has outmatched their efforts.
