Following initial reports of the transfer deal between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid for Samu Omorodion failing here are possible reasons why the transfer has reportedly collapsed.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea had reached an agreement to sign the striker for £34.5 million, while Conor Gallagher was set to move to Atletico Madrid for £36 million on a five-year contract. Gallagher completed his medical last week and was even spotted visiting Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

If Omorodion had left, Atletico would have needed a replacement, and they had already agreed on an £82 million deal for Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez. Manchester City still expects the Alvarez transfer to be finalized.

Chelsea had agreed to pay Atletico Madrid £34.5 million for Omorodion, but the striker turned down the move because he found Chelsea's proposal to purchase 50% of his image rights disrespectful. This disagreement ultimately caused the transfer to fall through.

Rumoured fail medicals

Relevo reports that Samu Omorodion's transfer to Chelsea fell through because he did not pass the medical examination, leading to concerns that have put the transfer on hold.

Omorodion has returned to Spain to rejoin Atletico Madrid, which holds his sporting rights after paying his release clause to leave Granada a year ago. Last season, Omorodion was on loan at Alavés, and the transfer to Chelsea had been agreed upon for approximately 40 million euros.
