The 13th edition of the African Games has taken the center spotlight as the biggest countries on the continent competing in all track and field events have begun to dominate the medals table.
The African Games 2023, has been seen as a form of preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games which will take place in Paris in July 2024.
Egypt currently leads the medal ranking table at the ongoing All-African Games in Ghana, as of Thursday morning. Their impressive performances across various events, notably in table tennis, wrestling, and swimming have helped them maintain the lead on the African Games 2023 medal table.
Both the men's and women's categories have been dominated by the North Africans, cementing their place at the summit of the medal table. So far, they have a total of 187 medals (99 gold, 46 silver, and 42 bronze), maintaining the number one position.
How many medals has Nigeria won at the 13th All-African Games?
Nigeria is in second place on the medals table at the All African Games in Ghana after winning a total of 120 medals so far (47 gold, 33 silver, and 40 bronze), followed by South Africa, Algeria, and Tunisia, which make up the top five countries. The host nation Ghana is in sixth position on the medal standings. The top 10 in the list so far are completed by Mauritius, Eritrea, Morocco, and Ethiopia.
