Mavin Records act Magixx and skilled storyteller Shoday reunite on Ferawa, released under Mavin Records and Canny Consults. It follows their earlier collaborative success on CHE, and this time they trade in a warm, humorous romantic narrative rooted in everyday Nigerian culture.
The production is bright and uncluttered. Crisp Afro-fusion drum kits, bouncy bass grooves and light synth lines leave plenty of room for vocal expression, so neither artist has to compete for space and each can show off a distinct delivery style.
Lyrically, the song works as a witty love note. Pidgin expressions and playful dialogue drive the story of attraction and romance. Shoday brings conversational, street-smart storytelling in his verses, while Magixx answers with silky, soulful runs on the hooks.
The chemistry between the two is easy to hear. By prioritizing relatable songwriting and effortless vocal interplay, they’ve made a charming single that suits the radio.
