Rising Afrobeats act, Davflx, is steadily becoming one of the fresh voices coming out of Lagos with a sound rooted in street culture and global appeal, with his 'Emergency' hit run in 2024, now set to storm 2026 with a banger, 'Monalisa'.
Born Ighodaro David Akaya on July 17, 1999, the Edo State–born artist was raised in Ojo, Lagos, where he developed his love for music at a young age.
Growing up, Davflx was actively involved in church, where he spent time in the music and drama departments, experiences that helped shape his confidence, performance energy, and melodic style. Influenced by the everyday hustle of Lagos life and a mix of Afrobeats, Dancehall, and contemporary African sounds, he began crafting a sound that blends catchy melodies with street-inspired rhythms.
Davflx officially stepped into the music scene in 2023 with his debut single “Vibration,” an energetic Afrobeats/Dancehall record that introduced him to a growing audience and earned him early buzz. He followed up with “Currency,” a vibrant street anthem that quickly gained traction across Lagos and resonated with listeners across Nigeria and beyond.
In 2024, he released “Emergency,” a record that expanded his reach and brought him more attention from a wider audience, marking a clear step forward in his growth as an artist. Continuing his run, Davflx is set to open 2026 with “Monalisa,” a smooth love tune scheduled for February 12, showing his versatility and ability to switch from street energy to emotional storytelling.
All of Davflx’s records are produced by renowned musician and producer Whalez (Electreek), whose signature production has played a key role in shaping his sound. With several unreleased songs and increasing momentum, Davflx is positioning himself as one of the promising new names to watch in the next wave of Afrobeats.
