Tanzania's Bongo Flava Is Now Added In The Prestigious Grammy Awards
Tanzania’s mainstream genre, Bongo Flava has officially been recognized by the USA based Grammy awards.
The famous “Bongo Fleva To The World” movement seems to head in the right direction as the Recording Academy recently included the Bongo Flava genre in their famous Grammy awards.

In their recent announcement, The Grammy Awards added the Best African Music Performance category which will include songs from mainstream African genres such as Amapiano, Afrobeats, South African Hip Hop, Bongo Fleva, Kenya’s Gengetone and more.
For a longtime artists from East Africa, especially Tanzania, have shown interest in the Grammy awards. In 2020 Zuchu, Rayvanny and Diamond Platnumz who are the members of the Recording Academy managed to get to the Consideration stage of the Grammy Awards.
