The talented Nairobi based artist sparks the attention of many with his indie style rap and lo-fi trap melodies on his debut body of work.
‘Duality’ is a 13 minute musical representation of a teenager’s struggle through fake friendships, finding confidence, and love. With a more robust, hip-hop feel, the EP’s first half aims to convey underlying feelings of tension, anger, and disappointment (particularly on the song “Gang.”)
In contrast, the EP’s second half takes on a more free flowing, light hearted approach in terms of the production. Lyrically, it carries sombre themes such as the death of a relationship in the song ‘Weight’ or longing and uncertainty in the song ‘Testament’ are brought out.
Capespring. combines the influences of Frank Ocean, Cuco, Stromae, Daft Punk, and others, as he aims to bring a unique, long-lasting sound to the table.
