Bxtra's Annamary Ishengoma wins the Best Entertainment Lawyer category at the 2024 NAMA Awards
In what stands as one of the most significant nights for Ghana and Africa's music scene, Annamary Ishengoma, Director of Operations at Tanzania’s leading music label Bxtra Records, has clinched the Best Entertainment Lawyer award at the Notable Africa Music Awards.
Annamary, who also manages Jaivah, one of Bxtra Records’ standout talents, was the sole Tanzanian nominee to take home an award this year.
In the highly competitive category, she faced off against some of Africa's top entertainment lawyers, including Counsel Able from Uganda, Isaac Minta Larbi from Ghana, and Akinyemi Ayinoluwa from Nigeria.
Leading up to the award show, Annamary played a pivotal behind-the-scenes role as one of the architects of Jaivah’s continental smash hit “Kautaka.”
The track topped Shazam Nigeria and made history as the first Tanzanian song to lead MTV Base's Top 10 Naija Street Anthems.
