Sauti Sol Debuts Their 5th Studio Album, "Midnight Train"
East Africa's multi-award winning boy band; Sauti Sol, release their highly anticipated 5th studio album "Midnight Train".
This is also their first official debut under Universal Music Africa.
The eminent boy band has been soaring high offering 4 critically acclaimed singles ahead of the album’s release. First came "Suzanna" which was a pacesetter for the album which was shortly followed by “Disco Matanga” featuring Sho Madjozi and Black Motion which enticed fans as it is also the lead single off the soundtrack to Netflix’s Queen Sono.
Not too long after the stars dropped the uplifting “Brighter Days” featuring the Soweto Gospel Choir, which shed a light of hope at the beginning of the world Corona Virus pandemic and finally their most recent release “Insecure” which intimately explores the insecurities that lie within each of us.
They now debut a 13-track piece of work which takes you on an eclectic journey through life bringing along their infectious melodies together with the unmissable 'Sol' essence, all while embracing the victories and losses of it all.
Sauti Sol joins forces with robust international talent on this project. Notable collaborations include 'My everything' which features international soul sweetheart; India Arie as well as stellar production from Andre Harris who's presence is greatly felt on the production of the 'Midnight Train' single.
The vocal powerhouse also comes together with some of East Africa's raw and budding talent on a wavy track titled 'Rhumba Japani' which features Its Kaskazini, Bensoul, Nviiri The Storyteller, Xenia Manasseh, Okello Mac and Nairobi Horns.
Singing in Swahili, Luhya, Luo and English, Sauti Sol prides themselves on the art of timeless storytelling as an East African tradition which is the greatly felt 'Sauti Sol' effect that continues to permeate the motherland and beyond.
Midnight Train is officially available for streaming and downloads on all major digital platforms.
