10 years ago today, one of the greatest ever projects was dropped by a rare gem. A musical maestro. A man with unparalleled vocals. Wande Coal revamped the entire music space with the release of his debut studio album Mushin 2 Mo’Hits. It was undoubtedly an immaculate piece of work, a game changer that redefined Nigerian pop music. It contained hit songs like Bumper 2 Bumper, You Bad, Taboo, Ten Ten, and many more.
This album was loved by fans and critics alike. It’s one of the classics that not only gave Wande Coal a name and a career but also proved that Don Jazzy was ahead of his time. Every single song on the album was a banger. It was released under the legendary Mo’Hits and it featured acts like D’Banj, D’Prince, K-Switch, Dr SID, and Ikechukwu.
Black Diamond (as he usually refers to himself as) smoothened the way for the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Sean Tizzle, Kizz Daniel. Mushin 2 Mo'Hits deserves to be kept in a museum and Wande Coal ought to be worshipped by music lovers.
