This year has seen interesting releases from Nigerian artists. We are all boisterous as Afrobeats is making a claim on the international market. Some people cannot help but ask; what are the top Nigerian songs in 2019 so far?

That's only the tip of the iceberg. As the top guys are working tirelessly to secure a spot for the Nigerian sound in the global space, there are emerging artists creating newfangled sounds and are constantly providing music lovers with quality content.

As a matter of fact, it's almost as if the Nigerian music industry is being overhauled. The industry is more open to creatives as there are more platforms through which creators (artists and producers) can now reach and connect with their audience.

It's a few days from August, which is the other half of the year, so Notjustok has compiled a list of the best Naija songs of 2019. You should note that there will be some songs that dropped in (late) 2018 but became bigger hits in 2019.

Jealous - Fireboy DML


As Motolani of Pulse ng said, Jealous is a sleeper hit, meaning that it's the kind of song that grows steadily till it becomes a massive hit. The song was originally released on the YBNL Mafia Family album which dropped in late 2018.

The song started to grow organically and has yet to reach its peak. It's still enjoying worldwide attention, making Fireboy DML one of the hottest acts in the Nigerian music industry. He has since released another chart-topping track What If I Say.

Am I A Yahoo Boy - Naira Marley feat. Zlatan Ibile


Naira Marley started giving unsolicited opinions on Instagram about internet fraud (Yahoo). This inspired him to release a song Am I A Yahoo Boy featuring Zlatan Ibile.

The song has since been one of the biggest releases 0f 2019.

Dumebi - Rema


Rema's introduction into the music industry was unlike any other. It was massive. The young singer released an EP Rema which contained 4 songs.

Dumebi immediately became the standout track and earned itself the top spot in several music charts. It has been touted as the hottest song that dropped in 2019.

Confirm - Patoranking feat. Davido


Earlier in the year, Patoranking employed the services of Afrobeats superstar Davido to deliver this Afropop banger. Confirm has been on steady replay and it continues to gain attention all across Nigeria.

Dangote - Burna Boy


Haha that's my president. The original Don Gorgon. Dangote was Burna's first release in 2019. The song appealed to every social class in Nigeria as it seemed to address something that matters to a lot of people: money.

'Why me no go find money?' Burna sings on Dangote. The song will never not be relevant.
