Since the beginning of 2019, there has been quite a number of new Naija projects that have been released.
The Nigerian music industry has seen the entrance of new acts who are pulling up with new sounds as the established ones are also trying their hands at new concepts.
It is a thing of joy to see how Afrobeats is gaining massive grounds in the international scene and as people in the western world are willing to pounce on any Nigerian sound, many music lovers back home are also hungry for new projects from some of their favorites.
We are almost at the second half of the year and there are still some artists who are yet to drop any new projects. So, we decided to bring the names of these Naija artists to light.
Wizkid
Wizkid has been one of the most prominent representatives of Afrobeats in the global scene. So far, the 'Starboy' has released two studio albums (Superstar and Ayo) as well as a mixtape Sounds From The Other Side.
Hot stories
Although he has since released some hot singles and has collaborated with different acts, majority of his fans are dying to listen to the album he's promised to drop since last year. However, Wizkid has continuously teased that the project is ready as he has taken to his Instagram to drop certain hints.
The Fever hitmaker said the album is special to him and we can't wait to listen to it.
Davido
Since Davido released his debut studio album in 2011 OBO (Omo Baba Olowo), he has only blessed his fans with banging singles and an EP Son of Mercy.
He was supposed to released his second studio album sometime in 2014 but was unable to. Davido has made a name for himself all over the world and is currently one of the biggest artists to come out of Africa.
As his hit singles If and Fall are enjoying massive airplay in the US, Davido is set to release his album under Sony's RCA Records. The album, according to him, will feature top international artists.
Tiwa Savage
Tiwa Savage is one of the most talented singers Nigeria can boast of. The former Mavin signee has been on top of her game since she made her presence known in the Nigerian music industry.
She has released two studio albums (Once Upon A Time and RED), an EP Sugarcane, and numerous singles.
Tiwa is currently signed to Universal Music Group and is expected by fans to drop a new album under the label this year.
Sean Tizzle
When Sean Tizzle's debut single Sho Le hit the radio, people couldn't help but wonder who the talented young man was. Sean Tizzle quickly earned a place for himself in the hearts of many music lovers.
His debut album The Journey has been acknowledged by music critics and personalities to be one of the greatest Nigerian pop albums. He dropped an EP titled Moving Forward in 2017.
Sean Tizzle was inactive in the music industry for a while and many fans are hoping he'll get his groove back with the release of a new project, most likely an album.
Tekno
Tekno's success as an artist was rapid and well-studded with chart-topping singles. The singer featured Davido on his debut single Holiday.
Tekno has released several singles including Duro, Dance, Wash, Where, Pana, Rara, and more. He has set himself apart in the Nigerian music industry as a singer and producer.
However, music lovers and critics alike have asked tirelessly when he plans to release an album. As a matter of fact, it appears as though Tekno's likelihood to stay long in the Nigerian music industry depends on that album.
