In 2017, He renegotiated his contract with SONY due to a creative control issue and later in the year, he released five singles which include, If and Fall, which notably made it to Billboard that year. He also released his second album A Good Time in November 2019 which earned him another level of prominence.

"We Rise By Lifting Others" was the theme for Puma and Davido’s collaboration. it was initially stated for late Q3 in 2022 but due to the loss of his son (Late Ifeanyi Adeleke), it was postponed to September 2023.
