Barcelona set to take legal action over Lamine Yamal's disqualified goal

Barcelona Football Club are reportedly set to take a legal step as it concerns Lamine Yamal's goal which was ruled out unjustly by the VAR officials.

The reports coming out of the Catalonia club suggest that Barcelona will take the case up against the Spanish Football Federation ( RFEF).

Real Madrid won the game 3-2 following a late-minute goal from Jude Bellingham which put the Los Blancos 11 points clear at the top of the Spanish league ahead of Barcelona in second place. Andreas Christensen and Vinicius Junior scored inside the first half, before Fermin Lopez made it 2-1 to Barca, only for Real to hit back through Lucas Vazquez and Bellingham.

The biggest talking point of the match was when Lamine Yamal's goal was ruled out unjustly by the VAR officials in the first half of the game. According to RAC1, via Sport, Barcelona are set to pursue the federation in court to try and force the RFEF to release the audio and footage from the VAR room during the check around Yamal's shot.

One feed of the conversation in the VAR room has been released but Barcelona are asking for the full conversation of what transpired among the officials.

The President of Barcelona, Joan Laporta also suggested the club could ask for a replay and recorded a video statement, and has cited as precedent a match in the Belgian league between Anderlecht and Genk. After a VAR decision was found to have been correct through the Disciplinary Council of the Belgian League, a replay was ordered.

He said,

'We ask the RFEF to provide us with all the images & audios of the play [Barça's cancelled goal],' the club president said after the game. 'If it was a legal goal, we do not rule out asking to replay the match.'

Barcelona are currently second on the league table ahead of Atletico Madrid with two points.
