Introducing high-life artiste Gerald Ekene Osuji aka E’zee. E’zee drops his debut single “Iworiwo”, a chant proclaiming his love, with a serenading voice and style reminiscent of the great high-life veterans of old and newer heads like Sunny Neji, over mid-tempo percussion and live instrumentation which is custom with the indigenous West African genre. I thoroughly enjoyed this song. I really hope this sound never fades away with the influx of Western music in the Naija music scene.
“Gerald Ekene Osuji also known as E’zee, began his foray into music with the church choir way back in 1993. With early influences from his parents who were both choristers, young E’zee began writing his own songs a couple of years later. Inspired by his father’s large collection of high-life music and contemporary African sounds, it is only normal that E’zee develops into a modern performing high-life artiste. Iworiwo is his debut single since signing on to Rollyworld Entertainment and has accompanied it with a beautiful video directed by Adasa Cookey of Squareball Media.”
