Real Madrid submitted a second bid of €180m for the French player on Thursday, August 26th, 2021. PSG was given an ultimatum to respond to the bid latest on Monday, August 30th, 2021, by 5 pm.

The Ligue 1 side failed to respond to Real Madrid's bid, which made the La Liga side officially withdraw from the deal. Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol confirmed this on his official Twitter account on Monday, August 30th, 2021.

The French winger wants to join Real Madrid and has told PSG that he is not interested in signing a new contract with the Ligue 1 side. Mbappe will leave as a free agent at the end of next season if he fails to sign the contract.

PSG might be forced to sell Mbappe in January 2022 or risk letting him go for free if they cannot convince him to sign a new deal.
